Menis Koumandareas

Menis Koumandareas was born in 1931 in Athens and is one of the leading Greek prose writers and translators of American literature (Faulkner, Fitzgerald, McCullers). He has published eleven books including the novels The Glassware Factory, The Strip with Number Nine, the novella Koula, as well as four collections of stories: The Pinball Machines, The Sailing, Serafim and Cherubim, and Their Scent Makes Me Weep. His collected essays The Day For Writing, The Night For The Body were published in 1999. Menis Koumandareas lives in Athens.
