Susan Sontag

Susan Sontag, born in 1933 in New York City, is one of America's best known and most admired writers. Her books include three novels, The Benefactor, Death Kit, and The Volcano Lover, a volume of stories, I, Etcetera, and several collections of essays, including the prize-winning On Photography, Against Interpretation, Styles of Radical Will and Under the Sign of Saturn. She has also written and directed four feature-length films and a play Alice in Bed. Her long-awaited novel In America has been just published. Susan Sontag lives in New York City.
